The Bahamas Needs Our Help

OX IN BAHAMAS REBUILD PROGRAM

“HOPE FOR ABACO”

Ox School of Construction Resource Center has just been informed of the devastation that has ascended on Marsh Harbor, and the Abaco Islands in Northern Bahamas. It is estimated that a minimum of 13,000 homes have been severely damaged or destroyed. On the ground, people are comparing it to a “war zone.” The rescue and assessment operations are currently underway.  We are currently reaching out to our partners and affiliates to join our efforts in putting a team together that will help with the recovery planning.

It is our core mission to offer our “Neighbors in Need” training and proactive re-building construction support while mitigating the bureaucratic issues that often take place after a natural disaster.  We are in the beginning planning stages with the local agencies working towards a plan to deploy and set up a satellite office and outpost for the on-going training and construction effort that will be needed for some time.

Being in close proximity, many Floridians have family in the Bahamas, have property or travel on a regular basis and enjoy the tourism and reprieve from city life. They are our "Neighbors in Tourism" and we understand fully how this will economically affect the everyday lives of the citizens. Everything is imported to the island and they are extremely vulnerable.  As of September 2nd 2019, Joy Jibrilu, Ministry of Tourism & Aviation, has stated that the infrastructure is damaged including the potable water system.

Ox School of Construction Resource Center has launched a fundraising campaign and is calling on individuals and corporations for donations that will go directly for providing on the ground training and reconstruction. The donations will go directly to the cause.  It is important to note that we do not operate as a pass through organization, and 100% of the donations will go to the Bahamas Outpost and cover our hard cost. All soft cost will be donated by our staff including meetings, drawings, and architectural engineering services. This will help to fast track the building effort as much as possible.

To participate please call our office at (888) 296-0084. Please note HOPE FOR ABACO to dedicate to this program. The program does not single out Abaco Islands and will be used for the any area of the Bahamas in need from the aftermath of Dorian in the Bahama Islands.
